Police launch investigation into acid attack on teenager in Adamawa
The Adamawa State Police Command has launched an investigation into an acid attack on a teenager in the state, describing the incident as a “barbaric and condemnable act.”
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state said the attack occurred in a community within Adamawa, where the victim was allegedly assaulted with a corrosive substance, leaving the teenager with severe injuries.
“The command has commenced a full-scale investigation into the incident. We strongly condemn this act, and we assure the public that those responsible will be identified and brought to justice,” the police spokesperson said.

According to the police, the victim was immediately taken to a medical facility for urgent treatment, while detectives were deployed to track down the suspect or suspects involved.
“We are appealing to members of the public who may have useful information to come forward and assist the police. Any information provided will be treated with utmost confidentiality,” the spokesperson added.

The police further warned that acts of violence, especially against minors, would not be tolerated, stressing the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property in the state.
As of the time of filing this report, no arrest had been made, and investigations were ongoing to determine the motive behind the attack.
