President Tinubu warns cabinet members against poor performance

In his New Year message to the nation, President Bola Tinubu has unequivocally warned members of his cabinet that poor performance will not be tolerated. The President emphasized his commitment to serving the country and delivering tangible results for the welfare of Nigerians.

“I took an oath to serve this country and give my best at all times. Like I said in the past, no excuse for poor performance from any of my appointees will be good enough,” stated Tinubu during his address on January 1, 2024.

To enforce accountability, Tinubu has established a Policy Coordination, Evaluation, Monitoring, and Delivery Unit within the Presidency. This unit will rigorously evaluate governance output and hold ministers and agency heads accountable.

“We have set the parameters for evaluation. Within the first quarter of this new year, Ministers and Heads of Agencies with a future in this administration that I lead will continue to show themselves,” Tinubu declared.

The President’s stern warning highlights his unwavering commitment to effective governance and underscores the importance of delivering results to enhance the lives of the Nigerian people.
