Story from Kenneth AFOR, Lagos
Shehu Sani, a former senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the eighth National Assembly, has urged the two major cattle owners association in the country, the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) and Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, to intervene and help secure the release of the abducted students of Greenfield University, Kaduna.
He made the appeal via his Twitter page on Tuesday.
The appeal is coming as the deadline issued by the bandits to the abductees’ families to pay the stipulated ransom expired on Tuesday.
The former lawmaker in his public appeal to the Miyetti Allah group is premised on the fact that prosperity will not be favourable to persons who failed to make a difference in the time of crisis.
He twitted, “I have privately appealed to the leaders of MACBAN and Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore and I’m publicly appealing to them to humanly and privately intercede to secure the release of the abducted students.” The future will have no pity for those men….who took the path of indifference….”
“The Protest by parents of the kidnapped students of the Federal College of Forestry at the NASS today is justified. The pains and anguish of having your children in the hands of Bandits for 55 days are unimaginable. We live in times of nights of tragedies and mornings of sorrows.
“The Remaining 17 Greenfield students must not be harmed. If the State and Federal Government has chosen to do nothing about it, nothing stops the Federal and State Lawmakers and Federal Appointees from the state from reaching out to the parents of the abductees. This is an emergency.”
