Southern states and security agencies have intensified efforts to combat the activities of bandits originating from northern Nigeria, following a rise in kidnappings, armed attacks, and cross-regional criminal operations.

Officials say coordinated security operations are being conducted along key transit routes and border areas to disrupt the movement of criminal gangs. The initiative also involves intelligence sharing between states, increased patrols, and collaboration with local vigilante groups to safeguard communities.
