Spain Stuns Hosts: Germany eliminated from EURO 2024 after extra-time thriller
Euro 2024 hosts, Germany, have been eliminated from the tournament by Spain.
La Roja sent the host nation packing with a 2-1 defeat after extra time. Both teams had played out a 1-1 draw at the end of normal time.
Dani Olmo had given Spain the lead ten minutes into the second half, but Florian Wirtz equalised for the hosts in the 89th minute to drag the tie into extra time.

However, Mikel Merino’s header one minute before the end of extra-time secured a semifinal spot for the three-time Euro winners.
