Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali loses father

Super Eagles’ goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, has announced the heartbreaking news of his father’s passing.

The Chippa United player shared the sad news on his Instagram story on Friday, posting a message with a tearful emoji that read, “Rest in peace dad.” Nwabali did not provide further details regarding the cause of his father’s death.

Nwabali had been in goal for Nigeria during their 1-1 draw against Benin Republic on Thursday in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.

The draw secured Nigeria’s top spot in the group, with the Super Eagles already having qualified for the competition.
