Nigeria’s Super Eagles continued their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign on a much stronger note trashing Sao Tome E Principe 10-0 at the Grand Stade D’ Agadir, Morocco Monday afternoon.

The Eagles recorded three unreplied goals before the break with Napoli star, Victor Osimhen, finding the back of the net in the opening nine minute of the game.

Moses Simon who has been troubling the Sao Tome’s defence had his name on the score sheet in the 28th minute while Ligue 1 club FC Lorient forward, Teremas “Terem” Igobor Moffi sealed the lead in the first half in the 43rd making it 3-0.

Much was expected from the Eagles who were having a filed day as Osimhen continued the goal feast in the 48th minute and seven minutes later Oghene Karo Etebo who has just recovered from injury had his name on the score sheet giving his team a comfortable 5-0 lead.

Moffi and Leicester City’s Haruna Lukman, proved their class against the Island nation in the 60th and 63rd followed by another goal from Osimhen who had his hat-trick in three minutes making 8-0.

Osimhen added one more goal to the tally in the 84th minute as Watford’s Emmanuel Dennis wrapped up victory for the Eagles on a platter after he was brought down in the box and sent Sao Tome’s keeper, Anastácio D’Almeida Sequeira Bragança to the right in a well taken penalty.

The Jose Peseiro’s boys sit comfortably top of Group A with six points ahead Guinea-Bissau with three who still have an encounter with Sierra Leone later in the day.
