Super Falcons stun Morocco 3-2 to win 10th WAFCON title

Nigeria’s Super Falcons have once again proven why they are the undisputed queens of African football—securing their 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title with a dramatic 3-2 comeback win over hosts Morocco in Rabat.

In front of a roaring home crowd at the Olympic Stadium, Morocco took a shocking 2-0 lead within the first 25 minutes, courtesy of goals from Ghizlane Chebbak and Sanaâ Mssoudy. But the Falcons, true to their reputation, refused to back down.

Esther Okoronkwo sparked the comeback with a 64th-minute penalty, followed by Flourish Ijamilusi’s equaliser just seven minutes later. Then came the killer blow Jennifer Echegini struck in the 88th minute to complete the turnaround and break Moroccan hearts.

Led by captain Rasheedat Ajibade and coached by Justine Madugu, Nigeria delivered a performance of grit, heart, and tactical brilliance to complete what they had dubbed “Mission X.” Now, mission accomplished  and in unforgettable style.
