Super Falcons to redeem Africa’s image in a must win encounter against hosts Australia
Nigeria’s Super Falcons will be hoping to redeem Africa’s image as they square up against hosts country, Australia in their second group game in the ongoing 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The Falcons held Canada to a goalless draw in a superb performance as the Nigerian goalkeeper, Chiamaka Cynthia Nnadozie was voted player of the match for stopping a spot kick which could have led to her country’s defeat in the tournament.
A win is expected from the Falcons to get a better chance of advancing to the next round of competition on Thursday.
The Falcons are still the only Africa’s representative yet to be beaten in the tournament as Zambia, Morocco and South Africa have tasted defeats.
Zambia were trashed by Japan 5-0 on Sunday, July 23 while Morocco who are debutants were unable to handle to handle the superiority of the German conceding six goals.
Africa’s reigning champions South Africa fell into the hands of the Swedish by 2-1.
All hopes will be on the Falcons who are believed to be a much more experienced team after ninth consecutive appearances.
