SuperSport will not broadcast AFCON – Multichoice

Multichoice, the parent company of DStv, stated on Wednesday, January 3, that the popular satellite TV service will not be broadcasting the AFCON 2023 tournament.

In a release, Multichoice revealed that SuperSport TV was unable to secure the broadcasting rights for the competition, causing disappointment among millions across Africa who were looking forward to witnessing the continent’s major football event.

The statement explained, “The SuperSport Channel will not be airing the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023, scheduled for January 13th – February 11th, 2024, due to the channel’s failure to secure the broadcasting rights for the tournament.
