Born on October 2, 1955, in Borno State, to Alhaji Baba Jimeta (one time Commissioner of Police in the North Eastern State) and Hajiya Jummai, she holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree with honours from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a Diploma in Law from the same institution. She furthered her studies at the Nigeria Law School in Lagos from 1982 to 1983.

Supreme court gets new acting Chief Registrar Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudira Kekere-Ekun, has approved the appointment of Kabir Eniola Akanbi as the Acting Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, effective February 13, 2025. A statement made available to newsmen on Friday by the apex court indicated that Akanbi’s appointment was effective from Thursday, February 13, 2025. Akanbi’s appointment followed the retirement of Hajo Sarki Bello who attained the mandatory retirement age of 60.
