Yobe NUJ suspends member over rape case, distance self from his action

Yobe State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has suspended its 55-year old member, Uche Friday Uche over the reporter's unruly behaviour of sexually molesting Aisha, a 5-year old girl in Damaturu. According to a statement from the council's chairman, Rajab Mohammed, the indefinite suspension is to ensure the law takes its full course against the suspect and to also serve as deterrent to any member of the Union who intends to indulge in such a despicable act.
