Nigeria has left the Maritime Organisation for West and Central Africa (MOWCA). The Director, Press and Public Relations, Ministry of Transportation, Eric Ojiekwe disclosed this in Abuja's statement. Ojiekwe explained that this followed disregard for the rules of procedure regarding the eligibility of candidates nominated for the position of the organization’s Secretary-General. He added that the decision was reached at the 8th Bureau of Ministers and 15th General Assembly of MOWCA held in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo.
