Court declares NASS' N110b SUV allowance self-serving, unlawful The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has declared unlawful the National Assembly’s proposed ₦110 billion expenditure for luxury utility vehicles and lawmakers’ allowances, ruling that the plan violated procurement regulations and constitutional standards of public accountability. Delivering judgment, the court held that the breakdown of the expenditure—which included ₦40 billion for 465 vehicles and ₦70 billion in support allowances—was inconsistent with due process and failed to demonstrate value for public funds.
