NAUB Professor dies in Boko Haram captivity nearly one year after abduction A professor at the Nigerian Army University Biu (NAUB) in Borno State, Abubakar Mohammed El-Jummah, has died while in Boko Haram captivity, almost one year after he was abducted by insurgents. The academic was reportedly kidnapped on March 2, 2025, while travelling along the Damaturu–Biu highway, a road widely known for repeated attacks and abductions in Nigeria’s North-East.
