Terrorists in Sokoto gun down policeman, vigilante member, cart away rifles
Gunmen have reportedly killed one policeman and a vigilante member on patrol in Sokoto State.
Neptune Prime learnt that the incident occured around 3:am on Monday at Kwanan Milgoma along Sokoto-Bodinga road.
Although the spokesman of the Sokoto Police Command is yet to issue a statement on the attack, a senior police officer who spoke on condition of anonymity confirmed the attack to newsmen.
According to him, the operatives were caught unaware by the gunmen who came in a white Hilux.
The gunmen met the operatives at a checkpoint along Sokoto-Bodinga road and opened fire on them.
“They killed one policeman and a vigilante and went away with two AK-47 rifles.

“Their bodies were deposited at the mortuary of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital,” he said.
This attack is coming few weeks after kidnappers brutally murdered the Emir of Gobir, Alhaji Isa Muhammad Bawa, and abducted over 150 people in several villages in the Gobir Emirate of Sokoto State.
