Suspected IPOB/ESN gunmen on Sunday attacked Nsukwa Police Divisional Headquarters in Aniocha South LGA of Delta state.

It was learnt the attack, which occurred around 1.00 am led to the collapse of parts of the roof of the police station.

Reports also gathered that the gunmen, who arrived on foot, launched the attack from a thick forest behind the ill-fortified station forcing residents to flee to neighbouring communities.

Although identities of the slain policemen have not been declared, sources in the community claimed they include an Inspector, sergeant and a Corporal.

The South-East and South-South regions have been under siege in recent months with incessant attacks on security agencies and personnel.

The Delta State Police Command has sent reinforcement to the area.
