Three women arrested over death of customs officer in hotel room

Three women have been arrested in connection with the mysterious death of a Nigeria Customs Service officer, Assistant Superintendent of Customs Lawal Tukur.
Tukur was found lifeless inside a hotel room under circumstances that have left many baffled.
According to multiple reports, the incident occurred late Wednesday night at the popular Murjani Hotel in Katsina metropolis, where the officer had checked in only hours before tragedy struck.

What began as a quiet evening reportedly turned into a scene of confusion after Tukur was discovered motionless in his room.
Sources say the three women: Khadija Ali (34) from Dutsin Amare Quarters, Aisha Lawal (30) from Ingawa Local Government, and Hafsat Yusuf (22) from Brigade Quarters, Kano were all at the hotel during the period of the incident.
Findings suggest that Khadija and Aisha allegedly spent the night with the officer, while Hafsat joined them later and also booked a room in the same hotel.
Moments after the discovery, hotel management reportedly alerted authorities, and the officer’s body was immediately taken to the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina, where doctors confirmed him dead on arrival.

As questions mount, the Katsina Police Command has launched a full-scale investigation. Sources within the force confirmed that the three women, alongside the hotel owner, key staff, and those on duty at the time, have all been taken into custody to assist with inquiries.
A senior security officer familiar with the case, who spoke under strict anonymity, hinted that early assumptions from some quarters might not represent the full story.
“Yes, the incident happened, but not everything out there is accurate. Investigations are ongoing, and we’re waiting for medical and forensic reports to determine the real cause of death,” the officer said.
The officer’s remains have since been deposited at the hospital’s mortuary for autopsy, as detectives work to uncover what really transpired leading to his demise.
