Tinubu appoints deputy DSS DG

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Mrs. Folashade Arinola Adekaiyaoja as the new Deputy Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS).

This appointment, according to the presidential approval, aims to boost the morale of DSS operatives and enhance efforts to address security threats.

The decision is part of an effort to restructure the agency for improved efficiency, in alignment with its original organizational framework.

The DSS hierarchy is designed to include three Deputy Directors-General, and Adekaiyaoja’s appointment, along with its ratification by the President, follows the recommendation of the DSS Director-General, in consultation with the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.

This appointment is seen as significant, as it is the first of its kind in the history of the service. In August of the previous year, President Tinubu also appointed Oluwastosin Ajayi as the Director-General of the DSS, following the completion of Yusuf Bichi’s more than four-year tenure.

Through the NSA, President Tinubu emphasized his awareness of the contemporary security challenges facing the country and urged all security agencies to collaborate for the safety and well-being of Nigerians.
