Tinubu assures Nigerians of ‘Better Days Ahead’

President Bola Tinubu remains optimistic about Nigeria’s economic recovery and urges citizens to trust in his administration’s reforms.

At the graduation ceremony of the Executive Intelligence Management Course 17 at the National Institute for Security Studies in Abuja, Tinubu—represented by National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu—acknowledged the current challenges but assured Nigerians of better days ahead.

“Things are happening in our country today. People may not like us or may disagree with certain decisions, but fundamentally, things are changing. Nigeria will transform,” he said.

His comments come months after the government floated the naira and ended fuel subsidies—two controversial policies that experts blame for worsening the country’s economic struggles.

“The economy is changing. It’s tough and challenging, but I assure you, brighter days are ahead,” Tinubu added.

Apart from the economic crisis, Nigeria also faces significant security challenges in various regions.

The president reiterated his administration’s commitment to restoring peace, saying, “If you are a bad person, whether in Nigeria or abroad, you are in trouble. We will pursue you and bring you to justice.”

At the same event, former Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu addressed criticisms of the Tax Reform Bills, which have faced resistance, especially in northern Nigeria.

Aliyu argued that many critics have not read the bill’s content and urged the government to improve public communication on the matter.

“I told the NSA that most people debating the tax bills haven’t read them. The problem is communication. The government needs to enlighten the public,” Aliyu said.

“Communication is very, very important,” he added.
