Tinubu calls for justice over Super Eagles’ inhumane treatment
President Bola Tinubu has called on the Confederation of African Football (CAF) disciplinary board to thoroughly investigate the inhumane treatment faced by the Super Eagles at a Libyan airport.
He urged CAF to take appropriate action against those who intentionally violated its statutes and regulations.
The President made these remarks in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Monday in Abuja.

Tinubu expressed his relief at the safe return of the Super Eagles, condemning their distressing ordeal that led to the team’s withdrawal from an upcoming match on Tuesday.
The President praised the effective collaboration between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Sports Development in managing the situation and ensuring the players’ safe return.
“President Tinubu applauds the players for maintaining their spirit despite the excruciating ordeal in Libya.
“The Nigerian leader recognizes football’s unifying power in bringing nations and people together and views the treatment of our citizens as unsportsmanlike and inhumane, a stark contrast to the spirit of the game he deeply appreciates.
“He fervently calls on all lovers of the round-leather game and administrators to unite and work collaboratively to prevent and overcome such incidents in the future.”
