Tinubu inaugurates GB Foods Tomato factory in Ngaski, pledges support for investors

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Friday, officially inaugurated the GB Foods Tomato Farming and Processing Factory in Ngaski Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

Represented by the Minister of Agriculture, Sen. Abubakar Kyari, President Tinubu expressed commitment to supporting both foreign and indigenous investors aiming to invest in Nigeria, particularly to generate employment opportunities for the country’s youth.

The President emphasized the significance of job creation, stating, “This is what we need especially at this period because it will create job opportunities for the youths.”

He commended the company’s efforts in providing employment and assured the federal government’s readiness to assist in further job creation.

Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, lauded the company’s initiative, highlighting its positive impact on job creation and the fight against poverty, unemployment, and insecurity. Governor Idris pledged an enabling environment for the factory’s operations and expressed readiness to collaborate to ensure it operates at full capacity.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Muhammad Idris, urged other investors and wealthy individuals to follow GB Foods’ example in addressing unemployment challenges in the country.

GB Foods, with over 1,000 hectares of cultivated farmland, employs over 5,000 individuals, with more than 70% being women. The company has trained over 10,000 extension agents to enhance agricultural productivity in Nigeria.

Among the dignitaries present at the inauguration were former Governor Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, Spain Ambassador to Nigeria Juan Sell, and various government officials.
