Tinubu mourns tragic loss of Deputy Comptroller of Customs, Etop Essien

President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow and condolences following the sudden passing of Deputy Comptroller Etop Essien, who died while on official duty at the National Assembly.

Essien, who was in charge of revenue at the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), reportedly showed signs of discomfort during a presentation before the House Committee on Public Accounts on Tuesday.

In a statement, President Tinubu described Essien’s death as a “tragic loss” and offered his heartfelt condolences to the family, Comptroller General of Customs Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, and the entire Nigeria Customs Service.

He prayed for the peaceful repose of Essien’s soul and offered solace to his grieving family.

The President’s special adviser on media and publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, issued the statement on behalf of President Tinubu.
