Top earning Instagrammers of 2019: Cristiano Ronaldo tops list with 38.2 million celebrities

The Portuguese footballer has 194 million followers on Instagram and shares pictures of his sporting success, family and workouts earning him £38.2million ($47.8million) in 2019.

The father-of-four signed a four-year contract with Italian Juventus Football Club last year and captains the Portuguese national team.

Ronaldo earns £28million-a-year ($36.6million) in wages at Juventus, after taxes, making his Instagram platform a lucrative business.

He had a total of 49 ad posts this year where he promoted Nike football boots, his own fragrance, CR7 Play it Cool, and even a hair loss consultation site.

Last year he became the first player to score 400 goals across Europe’s top five leagues.

2. Lionel Messi

Argentinian footballer Lionel Messi came in at number two on the rich list with a total earning this year of £18.7million ($23.3million).

The FC Barcelona forward, 32, raked in £518,000 per post to his 139 million followers where he goes by the handle, Leo Messi.

The sporting star has done paid partnerships with Adidas and regularly posts pictures of exotic holidays with his wife and three sons.

Messi has also collaborated with jewelry brand Jacob & Co. and the American crisp brand Lays and has posted 36 sponsored posts this year.

3. Kendall Jenner

Kendall was crowned the queen of Instagram after it was revealed she was the highest paid woman on the social media site.

The American model, 24, has promoted underwear brands such as Calvin Klein and skincare Proactiv earning her £12.7million ($15.7million) this year.

This year she was pictured in Vogue and has modeled for Valentino as well as paid partnerships with luxury shoe company Stuart Weitzman to her 120 million followers.

She has posted 26 sponsored pictures this year and earned £489,000 ($611,000) per post.

Jenner has walked on runways in Milan, New York, and Paris and has acted as a brand ambassador for campaigns with Estee Lauder.

She was first known on the TV show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which followed the life of her four sisters along with their mother Kris Jenner.

4. David Beckham

David Beckham has become the highest-earning British star on Instagram for a second year.

The former footballer, 44, can reportedly make up to £286,000 ($357,000) for posting a single sponsored image and uploaded 30 ad posts this year totaling £8.6million ($10.7million).

The staggering amount is an increase on his earnings from last year, when the star reportedly commanded £228,000 ($298,224) per post.

Among David’s 30 sponsored posts this year were adverts for wristwatches company Tudor Watch and menswear brand, Kent & Curwen.

5. Selena Gomez

American singer Selena Gomez earned £6.4million ($8million) on Instagram this year despite only posting nine sponsored pictures.

The pop star, 27, cashed in a reported £709,000 ($886,000) per post on the site where she has 164 million followers.

The singer, best known for her hit ‘We Don’t Talk Anymore’ with Charlie Puth, has recently shared previews of her new album ‘Rare’ which is out on January 10.

Among her sponsored posts are a deal with sports brand Puma and luxury brand Coach which she has collaborated with on with bags and clothing.

6. Neymar Jr

Brazilian footballer Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, known most commonly as Neymar, plays as a forward for French club Paris Saint-Germain and the Brazil national team.

He had an income of £5.8million ($7.2million) from Instagram posts this year with a reported average of £578K ($722,000) per post.

The 26-year-old has a net worth of £141million ($184.4million) and has 130 million followers on Instagram where he has posted ten sponsors this year.

His sponsored posts include his collaboration with Nike which promotes his collection of football boots.

7. Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic secured number seven in the highest earner list after raking in £3.2million ($4million) this year.

The former Manchester United striker is in talks to return to AC Milan after leaving LA Galaxy at the end of the Major League Soccer season.

Ibrahimovic, 38, posted 38 paid partnerships this year including his Zlatan fragrance as well as chewing gum brand, mind the gum, which promises to help concentration and mental energy.

The footballer regularly posts pictures of his sporting successes to his 40 million followers and earned £160,000 ($200,000) per post.

8. Kylie Jenner

Instagram queen Kylie Jenner has raked in an impressive £3million ($3.8million) this year and reportedly earns the most per post at an impressive £1.01million ($1.27million).

The 22-year-old Keeping Up With The Kardashian’s star has accumulated a whopping 155 million followers on the social media platform.

Regularly posting selfies, promotional photos for her brand, Kylie Cosmetics, and fun shots with friends and family.

And Kylie raked in an impressive amount despite only doing three ad posts this year.

As the youngest sister of the Kardashian and Jenner clan, she was named the youngest self-made billionaire ever by Forbes earlier this year.

9. Ronaldinho

Former professional footballer Ronaldinho secured number nine of the list after earning a reported £2million ($2.6million) this year.

The sports star has 50 million followers on the social media platform and earned an average of £205,000 ($256,000) per post, according to Buzz Bingo.

The 39-year-old played for European clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, and A.C Milan as well as representing his national team.

He has promoted Ronaldinho wine on his Instagram page for Duty Free Americas and online sports betting site Betcris.

10. Khloe Kardashian

Khloe joined her two sisters, Kylie and Kendall, in becoming the tenth Instagram star on the list of highest earners this year.

The 35-year-old American socialite earned a reported £957,000 ($1.2million) from the social media channel with an average of £478,000 ($598,000) per post.

Khloe has 102 million followers where she promotes her sister Kim’s fragrance, KKW, which features one scent named after her.

She only posted a reported two ad posts this year on her page which is filled with pictures of her one-year-old daughter True.

11. Virat Kohli

Indian cricketer Virat Kohli scored an impressive income of £941,000 ($1.18million) from Instagram posts this year.

The captain of the Indian national team, 31, is regarded as one of the best batsmen in the world.

He raked in an impressive £157,000 ($196,000) per post on the platform where he has 46.4 million followers.

Among his six sponsored posts are pictures of his beard transformation in partnership with Philips India.

12. Emily Ratajkowski

American model Emily rose to fame in 2013 after she appeared topless in Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’.

She has 25 million Instagram followers and earned a reported £904,000 ($1.13million) per post this year.

The 28-year-old regularly promotes her underwear brand, immoral, along with exotic snaps of the Waldorf Astoria resort in the Maldives.

13. Gareth Bale

Welsh footballer Gareth Bale plays for Spanish club Real Madrid and the Wales national team.

The 30-year-old has 42.8 million followers and is one of three UK stars on the rich list.

In 2019 he earned a reported £872,000 ($1.09million) which worked out at £174,000 ($218,000) per picture and posted across five sponsored snaps this year.

His paid partnerships include Adidas Originals and he regularly shares posts of his football success.

14. Priyanka Chopra

Indian actress Priyanka Chopra secured fourteenth place on the list and is one of India’s highest-paid celebrities.

The 37-year-old has 47.6 million followers and earned a reported £867,000 ($1.08million) from her posts on Instagram in 2019.

Across her four ad posts, she earned a reported £217,000 ($271,000) promoting the likes of skincare brand Obagi Medical.

She is married to American singer Nick Jonas and shared adorable posts of them over the festive period.

15. Camila Coelho

Brazilian blogger Camila has amassed 8.5 million followers on Instagram and earned a reported £762,000 ($952,000) on the platform this year.

She raked in £22,000 ($28,000) per post where she promotes her own clothing collection.

Camila regularly posts exotic pictures from destination holidays and has also worked with jewelry brand Boucheron.

16. Bella Hadid

American model Bella Hadid earned £759,000 ($949,000) from Instagram posts this year and cashed in £69,000 ($86,000) per post.

Bella has 27.5million followers on her Instagram site where she posts pictures of paid partnerships with designer Micheal Kors and modeling snaps for the likes of Alexander Wang and Calvin Klein.

The 23-year-old posted 11 sponsored posts this year along with pictures of her 24-year-old model sister Gigi.

17. Tara Whiteman

Asian-Australian social media star Tara posts lifestyle and enchanting travel snaps under the handle ‘Tara Milk Tea’.

The 25-year-old lives in Sydney and has an Instagram following of 1.3 million which has earned her a reported £602,000 ($752,000) this year.

She posted 73 sponsored pictures this year and earns an average of £8,000 ($10,000) per post.

18. Simeon Panda

Founder of fitness clothing brand, just lift official, Simeon has grown his following to 5.8 million on Instagram.

He posts workout videos and paid partnerships including fitness brand Vanquish.

The UK fitness star earned a reported £440,000 ($549,000) this year making him the best-paid fitness star on the platform.

The 33-year-old earned £11,000 ($16,000) per picture and posted 41 sponsored snaps throughout the year.

19. Ulisses Jr

American-based Ulisses Jr has amassed a following of 6.9 million users on Instagram and earned a reported £380,000 ($476,000) this year.

He has posted paid partnerships with the likes of SnapShop Republic and earned £13,000 ($16,000) per picture in 2019.

The fitness blogger, 43, regularly shares pictures of his abs and workouts and posted 29 sponsored shots this year.

20. Aimee Song

New York Times bestselling author Aimee is a fashion blogger and designer with a following of 5.4 million on Instagram.

The 32-year-old from Los Angeles, California, earned £355,000 ($444,000) this year from the platform and raked in £15,000 ($19,000) per post.

She regularly promotes her collection, Song of Style, and posted 24 ad posts this year.
