A group of traditionalists on Monday stormed the campus of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), lle-lfe to protest against the appointment of Professor Simon Adebayo Bamire as the next Vice-Chancellor of the varsity.

The protest started last week Thursday when his appointment was announced by the council, insisting that an indigene of lle-lfe in Osun State should have been appointed.
The institution is yet to comment on the development.
Bamire until his appointment is a professor of Agricultural Economics from the faculty of Agriculture, OAU.
His appointment will take effect June 7, 2022.
