The wedding ceremony took place at Bugereka village in Mukono district on Sunday, September 10, 2023.

The festivities began at 8 am when the brides were taken to local salons for styling. Subsequently, they were transported in waiting Super Custom vans, each bearing specialized plates with the names of the respective brides.

After exchanging marital vows, Nsikonnene and his seven wives led a grand procession, accompanied by boda boda cyclists, through the towns of Kalagi, Kasana, and Nakifuma. Their journey culminated at their new home at 6 pm.

The wedding ceremony kicked off with a concert, creating an atmosphere of excitement as the couples moved in a convoy.

Spectators lined the roadsides to witness this extraordinary event, with some finding it hard to believe, while others marvelled at experiencing such an occasion for the first time.

The wives, namely Mariam, Madinah, Aisha, Zainabu, Fatuma, Rashida, and Musanyusa, the first wife who has been with Habib for seven years, all received brand-new cars as gifts from the groom.

In his speech, Nsikonnene commended his wives for their loyalty.

“My wives hold no jealousy amongst themselves,” he proudly declared.

“I introduced them separately and decided to wed them all at once to create one big, happy family.”

He also hinted that he might add more wives in the future. “I am still a young man, and in the near future, God willing, this may not be the end of it,” he added.

The groom’s father, Hajj Abdul Ssemakula, noted that polygamy has been a longstanding practice in their family.

He recounted that his grandfather had six wives who lived in a single house, separated by curtains. “My late father had five wives, and I myself have four wives who live together in one house,” he shared.

It is worth mentioning that Habib broke the record for marrying the most wives at once in Uganda.
