Q: What motivated you to create Ulcer Aid, Africa’s first foundation for people with stomach ulcers and digestive issues?

For over 15 years, I’ve battled stomach ulcers, starting back in boarding school due to an incompatible diet. This personal journey inspired me to create Ulcer Aid Foundation, as I couldn’t find a support group or initiative dedicated to stomach ulcers in Africa.

Q: Could you share your experience living with an ulcer for over a decade and how it led you to start this organisation?

Initially, I was ignorant about the causes of stomach ulcers. Despite following treatments, the ulcers persisted. Realizing the lack of awareness and support, I founded Ulcer Aid to provide a platform for those affected and create understanding.

Q: How does Ulcer Aid provide emotional support to individuals with stomach ulcers, and what impact does it have on their lives?

While community support can’t cure ulcers, it empowers individuals to confront this disease. Ulcer Aid Foundation offers emotional support, awareness campaigns, financial assistance, and ensures that no one faces the challenges of stomach ulcers alone.

Q: What specific services and support does Ulcer Aid offer, such as awareness campaigns or financial assistance?

We have Ulcer Aid Representatives across Nigeria, creating awareness and providing in-depth knowledge. We also offer financial support from crowdfunding and personal funds, helping with hospital bills, medication, and essential food supplies.

Q: Building a community around ulcers is challenging. How did you create a space where people with similar experiences can connect?

Social media played a crucial role in forming our community, bringing people together to share and support one another. We also visit rural communities to raise awareness on preventing ulcers and equip affected individuals with management techniques.

Q: Can you share any success stories or impactful moments since Ulcer Aid’s inception?

I’m grateful for the overwhelming support we’ve received, with people expressing excitement about the foundation. Each testimonial and call from someone whose life we’ve touched is a significant success for Ulcer Aid.

Q: What are your future goals and aspirations for Ulcer Aid?

Ulcer Aid’s goal is to lead the fight against stomach ulcers, expanding our reach to other African countries. We aspire to create a strong network and become a beacon of support and awareness for those affected by stomach ulcers throughout Africa.

Q: How can individuals get involved or support Ulcer Aid in its mission?

You can support us by volunteering your time and expertise, as well as making donations to our foundation. Every contribution, big or small, helps us make a difference in the lives of those suffering from stomach ulcers.

Q: In your opinion, what are the most important aspects of raising awareness about stomach ulcers, and how can society better understand the seriousness of this illness?

Equipping people with accurate knowledge about the risk factors of stomach ulcers and digestive health issues is crucial. By dispelling myths and promoting informed decisions regarding diet and lifestyle, we can raise awareness and address the seriousness of this illness.

Q: What message of hope and encouragement would you like to convey to others dealing with stomach ulcers?

I want to assure those facing stomach ulcers that they are not alone. Seek help promptly, as early detection and adherence to treatment can lead to healing. Remember, stomach ulcers can be cured, and Ulcer Aid Foundation is here to support, create awareness, and provide guidance.

Q: How can individuals contact Ulcer Aid Foundation?

Currently, you can reach out to us through our social media handles @ulceraid on Twitter and Instagram. You can also drop us an email at info@ulceraid@gmail.com. We are always here to assist and provide support.
