Members of the United States House of Representatives have voted for the third time to end US military involvement in the Iran conflict, passing a war powers resolution aimed at restricting President Donald Trump’s ability to continue military operations without congressional approval.
The resolution was approved by a 220–204 vote on Tuesday, with seven Republicans joining Democrats in supporting the measure.
The latest vote marks the third attempt by lawmakers to invoke congressional war powers over the conflict. Similar resolutions were considered in June and July.

The measure now faces uncertainty in the Senate, where its prospects remain unclear.
The development comes weeks before the November midterm elections, in which Democrats are seeking to regain control of Congress from Republicans.
The Senate had previously approved a similar war powers resolution seeking to end the conflict, but Republican senators reversed their position the following day after Trump criticised them during a closed-door luncheon.

The White House had challenged the resolution passed by the House in June, while the Senate has yet to act on the measure approved by the House in July.
