Vigilante group nab suspected robbers on Abuja flyover
A notorious gang of robbers, known for targeting commercial tricycle operators and their passengers on flyover bridges in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has been apprehended by the Vigilante Group of Nigeria.
Commander of the VGN in charge of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), John Samuel, told Abuja Metro yesterday, that two suspects identified as Muhammad Abubakar, and Misbahu Abubakar were apprehended on Nyanya bridge on Wednesday night after robbing a commercial tricycle owner the sum of ₦20, 000 and attempted to flee.
He said, “The victim raised an alarm, and in the process, our members of security vigilantes, who were on patrol in the area, ran after them and got them arrested.”

He further said the money was recovered in their possession and handed over to the owner.
“The accused persons were taken to the vigilante office in Nyanya where they were thoroughly investigated and profiled, before being handed over to the police in Nyanya, for further investigation.”
