Story from Fa’izatu Aliyu DOMA, Abuja

A lady identified as Selimota Suleiman of NTA Channel 5 Abuja, has died after she was crushed by a Kaduna-bound train on Thursday morning at the Chikakore axis of Kubwa in Abuja.

The deceased Selimota was on her way to the office when the unfortunate incident happened, management of Nigeria’s national television network said.

Reacting to this ugly incident, the General Manager of NTA Channel Five, in Abuja, has expressed sadness over the incident.

“We didn’t know the the victim was our staff, when we told our reporter to go there after the incident happened”, he said.

Further talking, he said when they initially got the news, they asked a reporter to go there thinking it was just a random person. Even the reporter did not know she was their staff member because no picture of her was provided at the moment.

He said, ” it was when we got a call from the family that we knew . She was a principal accountant, level 12. She was a very gentle person”, he added.
