Rivers Election Result Will Be Written: Wike drops bombshell, dares Amaechi ahead of 2027
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will not win Rivers State in the 2027 general elections, making fresh remarks against former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi.

Wike made the statement on Saturday while addressing a gathering organised by Uzugbani Ekpeye in Ahoada, Rivers State, where he questioned Amaechi’s electoral record and his repeated allegations that election results in the state had been manipulated.
According to a reports, Wike claimed that the outcome of the 2027 election would be determined in a manner similar to what he described as past electoral contests in Rivers State.
The FCT minister recalled his role as director-general of Amaechi’s campaign during the 2011 governorship election, arguing that he had helped secure Amaechi’s victory at the time.
Wike subsequently challenged Amaechi to identify elections he had won since their political relationship ended, citing the 2019 and 2023 general elections as examples in which, according to him, the former governor failed to achieve his political objectives.

He also criticised Amaechi for repeatedly attributing electoral defeats to alleged result manipulation, insisting that similar arguments could emerge again ahead of the 2027 polls.
The remarks come amid growing political rivalry between Wike and Amaechi as political actors position themselves for the next general elections. Amaechi, a former minister of transportation and former governor of Rivers State, is associated with the ADC, which is seeking to strengthen its position in the state and nationally.
Wike also urged the Ekpeye people in Ahoada East and Ahoada West local government areas to assess political aspirants based on their records and contributions to development rather than propaganda.
Earlier, the President-General of Uzugbani Ekpeye, Dr Alabo Ihuowo, welcomed Wike and commended his contributions to the area during his tenure as governor and in his current role as FCT minister.
Ihuowo highlighted projects he attributed to Wike’s administration, including roads, educational facilities, improvements to Ahoada Zonal Hospital and the provision of water and electricity to Oyobu community.
Wike’s latest comments add to the political exchanges ahead of the 2027 elections, with the contest in Rivers State expected to attract considerable attention amid competing party interests and the rivalry among influential political figures.
