The Emir of Zazzau, Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, confirmed the incident, expressing his deep sorrow over the unfortunate event.

He explained that the mosque had previously been identified with a crack in the wall, and plans were underway to deploy a team of civil engineers to carry out repairs. However, before action could be taken, the collapse occurred.

In light of this tragic incident, the Emir urged the community to observe prayers outside the mosque until the necessary repairs are completed.

He emphasized the importance of prioritizing the safety and well-being of worshippers.

The Emir has also given directives for a funeral prayer to be held at the emir’s palace today at 8.30 pm, as a way to pay respects and console the families of the deceased.

The community is coming together to support and mourn the loss of their fellow worshippers, while also hoping for a swift recovery for those who have been injured.
