Yobe elder statesman, Musa Lawan, dies at 79

Yobe State’s elder statesman, Alhaji Musa Lawan (Madakin Tikau), has passed away at the age of 79.

Late Alhaji Musa Lawan was an experienced politician and respected figure, he died early Saturday morning in Kano State.

The cause of his demise remains unknown to the public.

His son, Ibrahim Musa Lawan, shared that the funeral prayer is scheduled for 4:30 pm on Saturday at his residence on Misau Road, Potiskum.

Alhaji Musa Lawan was a prominent political figure in Yobe State before the advent of democracy in 1999.

He is survived by 37 children, numerous grandchildren.

He is also the father of the representative for Nangere Local Government Area in the state House of Assembly, Saminu Musa Lawan.
