Yobe Government adopts programmes, policies to improve education

The Yobe State Ministry for Basic and Secondary Education has announced plans to introduce new policies and programmes to improve education in the state.
Neptune Prime reports that the initiatives will focus on increasing enrollment, reducing dropout rates, and improving the quality of education for all students, especially girls.
The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Muhammad Sani Idriss, made the announcement during a visit to the palaces of the Emir of Fika, His Royal Highness Muhammadu Abali Ibn Muhammadu Idrissa, and the Mai Potiskum, His Royal Highness Alhaji Umaru Bubaram Ibn Wuriwa Bauya.
While emphasizing the commitment of the Ministry to reviving the standard and quality of education across the state, Dr Idriss also took the opportunity to debunk rumours that the government is planning to reboard some secondary schools.
He explained that the Ministry is actually working to improve the quality of education in all schools, regardless of whether they are boarding or day schools.
The Royal Fathers welcomed the news of the Ministry’s plans and pledged their support. They also commended the Executive Governor of Yobe State Mai Mala Buni for his constant attention to the education sector.
The Commissioner was accompanied on the visit by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Alhaji Bukar Aji Bukar; the Executive Secretary of Science Technical Board, Alhaji Dauda Atiyaye; the SUBEB Secretary, Alhaji Isa Shettima, and other Directors from the Ministry.
