Yobe govt provides aid to displaced Mafa community (Pictures)

In response to the recent displacement in Mafa, Tarmuwa local government area, the Yobe State Government has swiftly provided aid to over 500 registered displaced persons, totaling approximately 2,300 individuals.

Led by Honorable Commissioner Ahmad Buba of the Ministry of Housing and a team from the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), essential food and non-food items were distributed to affected households.

The beneficiaries, currently accommodated in various locations within Babban Gida Town, also received support for possible reintegration into their host community.

SEMA’s Executive Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Goje, emphasized the importance of community vigilance, urging members to report suspicious movements to stakeholders and security agencies to maintain peace in Yobe State.

Neptune Prime gathered that the distributed items included maize flour, pasta cartons, mosquito nets, rechargeable touchlights, toiletries, cooking pots, kettles, buckets, nylon mats, and blankets.

Supported communities include Mafa (275 households), Bangaro (95 households), Ngoyo (65 households), and Billiri (40 households).

It could be recalled that the recent displacement in Mafa, Tarmuwa LGA, was a result of an attack by suspected Non-State Armed Groups (NSAGs), which led to the loss of two lives, injuries to five individuals, and the displacement of 475 households (2,390 people) from four communities: Mafa (275 households), Bangaro (95), Ngoyo (65), and Billiri (40).
