13 passengers burnt to ashes following auto crash in Kano

A Toyota Hummer bus belonging to Kano State Line had a head-on collision with Hyundai Jeep in Wudil village very close to Kano and 13 passengers were burnt ashes while some were taken to the hospital.

The Kano Line Toyota Hummer bus was coming from Gombe full of passengers when in an attempt to overtake another car, the driver rammed into a Hyundai Jeep coming from Kano. The Kano Line vehicle is numbered GML 102 TA and the accident happened around 7:30 pm yesterday.

The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Officer of the area, Mr Zubairu Mayo, in a statement explained that his men quickly mobilized their vehicles and took those that were still alive to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital where they lost one of the passengers. He appealed to road users to always be careful remembering that the people they are carrying are human beings and not animals.

Similarly, popular Kano – Hausa singer, Aminu Abubakar Ala, had a terrible accident from Kaduna to Kano in his Mercedes Benz. The vehicle was damaged beyond repairs but Ala escaped unhurt. Ala was alone travelling in the car when the accident happened, but passersby quickly rushed him to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital and have since been discharged.

A few days ago, it could be recalled one Sule Kayarda had a head-on collision with a trailer very close to Kano and he, his wife and four children died on the spot. They were since buried and security agencies are investigating the immediate cause of the accident.
