Following Neptune Prime’s report over today’s Potiskum Keke NAPEP operator’s protest that was nearly marred by violence today, the Divisional Police Officer of Potiskum, Chief Superintendant of Police (CSP) Muhammad Zayyanu Musa has corrected the part that said 14 operators were arrested.
Our report said the protesters went to the Potiskum Police Station with the intention to free their “arrested members” who were in the Police cells.

However, in a phone interview with our reporter, CSP Musa explained that what was in the custody of the Police at the time of the protest were only 14 Keke NAPEP handed over to them by the army. “We were cautioning the operators’ leaders on the need for their members to observe laws when some of them decided to take the law into their hands”.
CSP Musa further said that it was only after the protest that two of the protesters’ ring leaders were arrested.
