Residents of Bogoro Local Government Area have been called upon to obey all safety rules following the Bauchi State Government directives on lockdown.
The Caretaker chairman of Bogoro LGA Hon Iliya Habila made the call when he led security operatives and other Government officials to Malar and Boi Village on advocacy and enforcement order on COVID19 pandemic.
In a press release signed by Gomna James, the Information officer, Hon Iliya Habila disclosed that the advocacy and enforcement visit to Malar and Boi is occasioned because of the first index of Coronavirus in Boi.
He noted with dismay how over 30 people had been isolated because they ignored the social distancing rules had come in contact with the infected person.
The council chairman revealed that the infected person travelled from Lagos to Boi together with his Co traveller from Malar Ganawuri whose contact is yet to be trace.
He urged the people not to panic that the local government council in partnership with Health workers are working hard to ensure their safety.
Accordingly he enjoined residents of the affected area to be cautious and follow instructions and guidelines in the face of this ravaging virus.
In their submission the Village Head of Bogoro Mr. Nuhu Tafida and Boi Bala Ibrahim Likita promised to enjoined their followers to respect all safety standards.
The Divisional Police Officer SP Emmanuel P Ganya used the opportunity to inform the people that security agents will enforce the lockdown order and anyone found guilty of flouting the law will be prosecuted through the mobile court.
SP Emmanuel P Ganya said henceforth all markets are to remain close until further notice.
He urged members of the public to support the security agents with a view to find a lasting solution to the COVID19 pandemic.
