The Yobe State Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control on Monday said it imposed a carfew from 8 pm to 6 am effective from May 4 to contain the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the state.
The Chairman of the Committee, Idi Gubana, and also the Deputy Governor of the state disclosed this while briefing newsman the outcome of the Committee’s resolutions in Damaturu.
He said Yobe State would key into the national directives starting, from today Monday 4 May 2020 by imposing a carfew from 8 pm to 6 am till the end of Ramadan.
Idi Gubana also said henceforth the committee resolved that wearing of face masks in public places was compulsory across the state especially at the public place.

The committee also agreed that hand washing facilities and sanitizers must be provided in all public places like filling stations, shopping complex and markets.
Any political office holder that travelled out of the state and any visitor that came into the State or on transit must be quarantined for two weeks.
Only political appointees, directors, heads of agencies and essential workers should come to work till the end of Ramadan.
The committee also agreed that interstate travel was banned for the next two weeks.
The Committee emphasized that people must adhere to physical and social distancing at all times among other health guidelines.
