Two million Naira have been disbursed to two hundred micro-enterprises businessmen and women in Bauchi State by the Federal Government’s micro-enterprises enhancement loan.
President Mohammadu Buhari while disbursing the Money stated that the loan is to help the beneficiaries, especially during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The President who was represented by the Director-General, National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Nasiru Ladan Argungu, Buhari stated that the beneficiaries are selected from the 20 local government areas of the state.
He explained that the beneficiaries were carefully selected by their respective local government council chairmen, adding that 10 beneficiaries are picked from each of the local government areas in the state.
In his speech on the occasion, the Bauchi State Coordinator of the NDE, Lawal Yaya, who represented the Directorate’s Director-General, informed that beneficiaries of the enhancement loan are mostly women selling little items like potatoes, tomatoes, Akara, groundnut, groundnut oil, among others.
According to him, the beneficiaries are those who do not have big capital to invest in their trades.
One of the beneficiaries who spoke on behalf of others, Hauwa Aliyu Jalla, expressed appreciation to Buhari for giving them the money to invest in their trade.
