Dr Edogo becomes new Nasarawa State HMB’s CMD

Dr Egba Edogo has emerged as the new Chief Medical Director (CMD)  of Nasarawa State Hospitals Management Board.

The official handing over between the former Chief Medical Director, Dr George Usman Dangana who is currently appointed as the General Manager of Nasarawa State Infectious Disease Control, Diagnosis and Research Centre and the incumbent CMD, Dr Edogo was done yesterday 29th January 2021.

The auspicious and history-making occasion took place at the board room of HMB headquarters Lafia. It started with self-introduction which was then followed by opening prayers.

The occasion had all directors and deputy directors, including all heads of departments. Anchored by the Director Admin and Supplies, Mr Hakuri Namo welcomed all to the memorable occasion and appreciated the outgoing CMD for his hard work.

Opening remarks were done by the Director Medical Services, Dr Akolo Name who congratulated the new CMD for a well-deserved appointment, stating that his appointment was as a result of his humility, kindness and selfless service to humanity, assuring that they will work together with him to take the organization to an enviable height.

Other directors took turns to applaud the outgoing CMD, congratulate as well as advised the incumbent CMD, pledging to give him their total support to promote teamwork.

Director Nursing, Mrs Patricia Osumanyi in her words congratulated Dr Egba Edogo, showered praises on Dr George Dangana hoping that he keeps his good work.

In addition, the Director Finance and Account,  Hajia Salamatu Onyeze also said it has been a successful working experience with Dr George because of his exemplary leadership qualities which are commendable and worth emulating.

She also commended his quest for teamwork, standard and quality which has greatly impacted the organization, praying that Dr Egba Edogo also maintains the same standards in his new office.

Similarly, the Director Medical Laboratory Services, Alhaji Rosha Garba also commended Dr George Dangana for his effort in ensuring that there were constant water supply and power, appraising him for effectively utilizing the world bank support fund through the NSHIP project to renovate dilapidated structures, he advised Dr Egba to source for funding to ensure sustainability.

Moreso, the Director Technical Services, Mr Francis Ozegya and head of Audit Department Mr Umaru James said the outgoing CMD has left landmarks and footprints that are too numerous to mention.

Responding, Dr George Usman Dangana said he gives God the glory for being alive and also thanked God for giving him wisdom and knowledge in handling affairs of the board, quoting Julius Caesar “I came, I saw and I conquered”.

He said “he came, he saw and he achieved” even though his aspiration was not actualized in terms of manpower, infrastructure and equipment for General Hospitals in Nasarawa State to be one of the best health facilities in the country.

He explained that he had hitches as there was no board of directors to fast track the process, he also said his principle of teamwork played a great role in his achievements, he appreciated the administration of his Excellency, Governor Abdullahi Sule for engineering what the Architect left behind, advising his incumbent to be mindful of his decision and imbibe the spirit of teamwork.

Responding, Dr Egba Edogo, the new Chief Medical Director appreciated the effort of the outgoing CMD as well as commending the directors, deputy directors and all unit heads for giving Dr George the enabling support to succeed. He reiterated that his attention should be called whenever they noticed he is going astray as he looks forward to a cordial working relationship with them and all staff.

Moreso, Dr George alongside directors showed Dr Egba Edogo the New Chief Medical Director round the organization.
