Barcelona announced on Monday that Philippe Coutinho has undergone another knee operation back in Brazil.
The club revealed last week that Coutinho was flying back to his homeland for treatment on his knee injury and has now gone under the knife.
There’s no date for when Coutinho is expected to return to action but it would be a bit of a surprise if he played again for Barca this season given there are only nine La Liga games left.
Coutinho could be fit in time for the Copa America in what could be an interesting summer for the 28-year-old. It’s expected Barca will try to offload Coutinho at the end of the season although finding a buyer may be tough because he’s not played since December.
The former Liverpool man has been regularly linked with Premier League clubs over the last few seasons and may head back to England. A strong performance for Brazil at the Copa America may well attract a few admirers.
