Recently, the renowned Hausa blogger Datti Assalafi took to his social media page, criticizing famous Kannywood actress Fati Mohammed describing her as an old woman who is using make-up to cover her old age.
Assalafi in his message claimed that Fati Mohammed was his former girlfriend and that when he saw her recently on the social media page, he couldn’t recognize her because of the heavy makeups, trying to show that she is still a young lady even though she is now an old woman but does not want to face reality, according to Datti Assalafi.

In a swift response, Fati Mohammed who has retired from acting for some time and is now campaigning for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar including heading his Charity Organization in Kaduna covering the Northwest hinted that she was terribly bitter by the action of Datti Assalafi because she is neither his former girlfriend nor her friend at all.
She spoke briefly with Neptune Prime’s Kano Correspondent, Saleh Inuwa and below is their discussion.
EXCERPTS OF THE INTERVIEW
Neptune Prime: I read recently that you have been hospitalized even though it is showing on your body, but all the same how are you feeling now?
Fati: Thank you very much, the world is a global village today that one can easily know what is happening around him without sweat, this is even the main reason why I agreed for the short interview, one Datti Assalafi a blogger and social commentator ridiculed me through the media that I wish to reply.
NP: What actually happened?
Fati: For your information, I never met the said Assalafi in my life talkless of being his former girlfriend. I woke up only to see on YouTube and some blogger pages, Datti Assalafi describing me as an old woman but I am using heavy makeups to cover my old age. I have been in Kannywood for more than 20-years, you can see that I am not a small girl but not old to the extent of trying to cover it with heavy makeups. I am really hurt and disappointed with Assalafi who can just go to the media and attack me, after all, I never met him in life, he was even saying that I have granted an interview where I was saying my prayers is to marry again and settle down. Is that a sin for a woman of my age to pray to settle down?, in fact, I am thinking of dragging Assalafi to court, he really damaged my image and I am not happy.
NP: Who is Fati Mohammed?
Fati: I will answer this because of those that are not opportune to know me very well, I am from Yola Adamawa State. I married twice, one, to Sani Iska when we relocated to London, secondly to Umar Kanu, Ali Jitta’s Elder brother. We still admire each other but his parents made it difficult for the marriage to survive so we broke up. All in all, I married twice but no issue, but I am still part of Kannywood because I have friends there, male and female. People like my brother Ali Nuhu, so Datti Assalafi did not embarrass me for nothing, maybe he has his reason for doing that, whatever is the case, I fell sick and now recovering and by the grace of God, very soon people will see a cute looking Fati Mohammed the former Queen of “Sangaya” one film produced in Kannywood that viewers will never forget.
