Story from Saleh INUWA,  Kano

The Senator representing Kaduna Central who is also a human rights activist, Dr Uba Sani has revealed that he is under tremendous pressure to run for the Kaduna Governorship in 2023.

The Senator who revealed this on Democracy Day (Saturday, June 12, 2021) said although there is no law stopping him from contesting, he is yet to make up his mind on it.

According to him, he (Sani) is one politician that is very close to Governor El-Rufai and therefore, is in a better position to succeed the governor in order to complete any unfinished projects.

Senator Sani called on all well-meaning Nigerians to put their hands on deck so that the country’s democracy which is already maturing will not be aborted by selfish individuals.

The Senator also used the June 12 Democracy Day to remember his colleagues that died in the process of fighting for democracy in Nigeria namely; Chief MKO Abiola, Chief Gani Fayemi, Dr Beko Ransome Kuti, Balarabe Musa, Dr Bala Usman and several others including late General Shehu Musa Yar’adua, who shed their blood to ensure that Nigeria remains a democratic country.

Sani said, “never shall Nigerians allow their democracy to be aborted, they should also support President Muhammadu Buhari so that he will handover successfully in 2023”.

He urged those in the business of kidnapping and banditry to fear God because according to him, on the day of judgment, all those they killed or raped will definitely seek redress before the Almighty.
