Governor Bala swears in SSG, COS, Commissioners

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, has sworn in the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ibrahim Kashim Imam, Chief of Staff Government House, Dr Aminu Gamawa and his deputy, Bashir Ya’u, the Private Principal Secretary (PPS) to the Governor, Pharmacist Samaila Burga and 21 Commissioners who were posted to various ministries.

The appointees were sworn in by the State Chief Judge, Justice Rabi Talatu Umar at the new banquet hall of the Government House annexe on Thursday.

Governor Bala said his administration as well as the entire people of Bauchi state has high expectations of them, hence the need for them to be focused on the discharge of their duties and advised them to discharge their duties with the fear of God.

 Governor Bala said the appointment of the commissioners SSG, Chief of Staff and PPS  were done after due and diligence and wide consultations with stakeholders across the state.

He said that the appointment of special advisers and other political positions would soon follow, added that “anyone you have seen sworn-in today is competent because all of them were backed by their people and I will give them the benefit of the doubt for them to perform.”

He warned the appointees against sidelining any citizen of the state on the basis of political affiliation or to please him, adding that all the citizens have a stake in the government and as such, should be carried along.

Governor Bala said that the 21 Commissioners he brought on board are tested and trusted technocrats, hoping that they will work towards his success come 2023.

He thanked the state assembly for supporting his administration in the task of taking the state to the promised land, equally appreciated the support of the entire people of the state, praying God to continue to provide the required resources to deliver on his campaign promises.
Immediately after they were sworn in commissioners in Bauchi State Governor Bala gave them portfolios.

They are, Abdulkadir Ibrahim, Ministry of Works and Transport, Garba Dahiru, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Abdulhamid Nurudden, Ministry of Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Jidauna Tula Mbami, Ministry of Agriculture, Dayyabu Chiroma, Ministry of Information and Communications, Ahmed Aliyu Jalam, Ministry of Water Resources and Maryan Garba Bagel was posted to Ministry of Power, Science and Technology.

Others are Umar Babayo Kesa, Ministry of Religious and Social Welfare, Adamu Manu Soro, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Asmau Giade, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Hajara Gidado, Ministry of Women Affairs and Child Development, Usman Abdulkadir Modibbo, Ministry of Finance, Samaila Dahuwa, Ministry of Health and Saadatu Bello Kirfi, Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises, Aminu Hammayo, Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Yakubu Barau Ningi, Ministry of Lands and Survey, Hamisu Muazu Shira, Ministry of Housing and Environment and Abubakar Abdulhamid,
Ministry of Justice.

The rest are Aliyu Usman Tilde, Ministry of Education, Abdulrazak Nuhu Zaki, Ministry of Local Government and Abdullahi Musa, Ministry of Rural Development and Special Duties.
