Journalists re-commit to disseminate accurate information about COVID-19 vaccine (Video)

Health reporters in Bauchi state have expressed a solemn desire to disseminate correct and accurate information about Covid 19 Vaccines to their audience during reportage.

This was disclosed at a one day Media Orientation meeting on Covid 19 phase 2 Vaccination Exercise, organized by the state primary health care development Agency with support from the National primary health care development agency.

The Meeting aims at empowering the media with correct information about Covid 19 so that the Populace can be guided as there is Vaccines hesitancy in the state.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Agency, Dr Rilwanu Mohammed pleaded with the reporters to be Vanguards of truth, he also laments the continuous rejection of the Vaccines.

Rilwanu said only two per cent of the Nigerian population were vaccinated, and the second phase targets residents from ages 18 and above at all levels. He added that over sixty thousand people were Vaccinated during the first phase, though they are mainly Frontline health workers.

Head of communication NPHCDA, Muhammad Abubakar and Incident Manager, Dr Garba Bakunawa urge Journalists to always cross-check their facts before dissemination adding that as the fourth estate of the Realm, they should support the government in the proper education of residents about Covid 19 Vaccine safety.
