Bandits release students, staff of FGC, Birnin Yauri Kebbi
Bandits have released 90 abducted students and staff of Federal Government College (FGC), Birnin Yauri Kebbi after one hundred and eighteen (118) days in captivity.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the State, DSP Nafi’u Abubakar confirmed the release of the students and their teachers

According to reports, they were released yesterday but are still with the authorities. They are expected to undergo some medical check-up before they are released to their parents.
It was earlier reported on the 17th of June 2021, that some unknown gunmen invaded Federal Government Girls College, Birnin Yauri, Kebbi State, went away with several students out of the school, though the exact number of girls taken at that time was not known, it was however reported that at least 90 students and three teachers were abducted, according to security sources.
An eyewitness narrated that the bandits pointed a gun at the school guards and asked them for the girls’ hostels, before abducting female students.
