FCT Minister tests positive for COVID-19
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Muhammad Musa Bello has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.
The Minister disclosed this through a post he made on his official Facebook page on Friday; “I have tested positive for COVID-19, after a hide and seek period spanning 21 months (1yr 9 months) between COVID-19 and my humble self, the virus finally caught up with me during the dying days of 2021. After feeling unwell from 28th December, I decided to do a COVID-19 test yesterday morning”.
“The result came out positive this morning. Currently, doing fine, with some sore throat, feverish feeling and mild running nose. Undertaking treatment and isolation at home.
“I salute and wish all the medical personnel in the FCT and beyond who have been in the front line fighting this pandemic a happy and prosperous new year of 2022. I pray for the quick recovery of all of us currently afflicted with COVID-19.

“I have been informed by the experts that my case is mild because I took two shots of the COVID-19 vaccine. I appeal to all those who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19 to do so.
“Thanks and Happy New Year all” he concluded on Facebook.
Covid-19 testing had recently been ramped up in the wake of the Omicron variant to ensure the containment of the virus nationwide.
A few days ago, Premium Times alleged a number of presidential aides have reportedly tested positive to Covid-19 and have been placed on self-isolation.
The paper also named those affected as the permanent secretary in the State House, Tijani Umar; the President’s Aide-de-camp (ADC), Yusuf Dodo; his chief security officer (CSO), Aliyu Musa, and his senior special assistant (media and publicity), Garba Shehu.
The online newspaper further alleged that their results were confirmed positive during the week, claiming that the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, is also down with the virus.
Similarly, Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has tested positive for Coronavirus while returning to Italy. Napoli made the announcement on Thursday.
The Nigerian striker at about this time last year also tested positive for the same virus after reportedly attending a party.
Osimhen was recently spotted in Nigeria during the yuletide celebrations with his family.
