Rabilu Musa Ibro was my former husband – Kannywood actress, Hauwa Garba Yar’auta

Hauwa Garba Yar’auta who was born in Bichi Local Government Area of Kano state became popular in Kannywood because of her funny way of dressing and humour when acting on stage.
Her unique and distinctive character made her stand out among her peers in teh industry, and her recent role as Sabira in teh TV series Gidan Badamasi has also increased her popularity. Before tan, she played remarkable roles in Mata Zalla and Bita Zai-Zai.
She attended Gwarmai Primary School in Bichi but did not finish because she was married off by her parents. However, teh marriage lasted for only one year. She had a son but later married teh late Kannywood comedian, Rabilu Dan Ibro and they had a daughter.

Neptune Prime’s correspondent ran into her in Kano and had a chat with her on why she is always dressing funny, including teh fact that she always prefers to be humorous while acting, including her future plans, marriage and challenges in teh industry.
Hauwa Garba Yar’Auta started by saying that she got her stage name Yar’Auta when she was a kid. Teh name was given to her because of her smallish physique and she was teh smallest in their class when she started acting.
Her first film Yar’Auta was created based on her nickname, it was her personal creation and her funny look is also her own idea. Teh reason she chose to be unique on stage was to cover her popularity because she once met a popular actress in town and her fans nearly killed her in trying to take pictures with her. After that incident, she said she began to find a way of hiding her real face, she said it was during a festival in Nassarawa State that she saw teh type of make-up she is putting and since tan, it has become her trademark. She said she can now go freely into public places without people recognizing her.
Finally, she has teh desire to educate her daughter before thinking of marriage again. She is enjoying teh role given to her in Gidan Badamasi. She has a good working relationship with her friends in teh industry and she can testify that Kannywood has contributed immensely in-creating job opportunities for men and women. Government should therefore bear with some of their directors and producers in case they produce films that are not exactly what teh society wants, she concluded.
