I will remain grateful to Ali Nuhu for saving me from embarrassment – Kannywood actress, Hafsat Idris Barauniya
Story from Saleh INUWA, Kano
Famous Kannywood actress and mother of four, Hafsat Idris Barauniya has successfully settled her ongoing court case with the CEO of UK Entertainment.
The CEO of UK Entertainment, who dragged Hafsat Idris to court for breach of contract, alleged that he paid her the sum of N1.5 million for her to be a backup singer in a film he is shooting but she continued giving excuses up to the time the film started and this has led him to a financial loss.
Hafsat Idris is one of the richest actresses in Kannywood and the sum of N1.5 million naira is nothing to her, but she continued to refuse to abide by their agreement. This, according to UK Entertainment, was a deliberate attempt by her to run down his company because other investors had invested their money in the film project and when the financial loss was registered, he had to pay them and bear the loss.

He was, therefore, advised by his friends and lawyers to take her to court, which he did but the actress, instead of settling it in court by paying him his money, she preferred to drag the case, even though some of her friends advised her to pay up the money so that the matter will be settled amicably, which she refused.
Recently, she married off her daughter in a lavish manner. She also used the occasion to publicize her custom-built Mercedez Benz car and a beautiful mansion that she just acquired. She was somehow lucky when Ali Nuhu intervened and settled the matter.
Ali Nuhu was instrumental in making Hafsat Barauniya famous and popular in Kannywood when he gave her the lead role in her first film, Barauniya and also continued to feature her in high budget films. He, therefore, called her and UK Entertainment to settle their problem out of court, and an agreement was later signed that she will pay back the money and apologize to the CEO of UK Entertainment.
She was quoted as saying that she will remain grateful to Ali Nuhu for saving her from embarrassment.
